The Jig Of The Dabbled Green

The Jig Of The Dabbled Green

We skip ‘round the circle, so wide and grand,

With a pocket of hemp seeds and a sun-warmed hand

The grumpy old hills give the valleys a grin,

As the brand-new days lets the sun rays in

The thirsty old woods start to wiggle their toes,

When the rain does a jig on a deer nose.

With a puff of a pipe and a hum and a hah,

We’re singing a song and smoking that Zaa

The cracks in the dirt turn to mossy green lanes

And the creek bubbles over with sparkly refrains

For the pulse of the day world is a giggling thing,

Where the rocks like to whistle and mushrooms sing

One twist of the vine, one leap of the deer,

The Earth is a party, and everyone’s here!
