Each few is associated with a tree (or a plant, among other things), and each tree carries a body of symbolic meaning, seasonal wisdom, and the natural properties of the tree itself. For example, Beith, the birch, speaks to new beginnings and purification. Luis, the rowan, to protection and clarity of vision. Sail, the willow, to intuition and the flow of emotion. And so on through all twenty five. A practitioner draws one or several Ogham carved staves from a bag, usually without looking, and reads the feda that appear in response to a question or as a general reading for a period of time. What distinguishes Ogham divination from other systems is its deep rootedness in the natural world. The guidance comes through the intelligence of trees, seasons, and the living land rather than through abstract symbols. It is embodied, ecological, and deeply Celtic in character, and is less about predicting fixed outcomes and more about understanding the qualities and energies present in a moment, and how to move wisely within them. --- ### READING FOR THE AUTUMNAL EQUINOX TO WINTER SOLSTICE Walking into the gentle winds of the autumn equinox, leaves begin to fall, a reminder of that replenishment comes in the form of shedding. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/e1/2b/e12b16e4-d1c4-4075-97bb-b7641c509179/content/images/2026/09/Unknown-2-1.jpg) The Ogham that opens our path into this season is Quiert, an essence that calls us to continue to seek the wholeness of who we are and continue to add parts to ourself to become a more fuller human being. Quiert reminds us that although this is the time of going inwards more, seeking shelter and warmth, we should find these things while staying connected to others, still being active in the silence of dormancy. \~ Tinne , the second Ogham brings forth that gentle, warm heat, the warmth we find in the fire place during this season. It is here we gather with friends, partake of our favorite drinks and and pay more attention to details with quiet reflection. \~ Muin closes the spread of this season to remind us that our connections are what sustain us during this season.
